Wesley Preschool is a family experience. The school fosters an "open door" policy and invites parents to visit at any time. Teachers may also request parent assistance in classrooms for special projects and events.
The school sponsors Parent/Teacher Coffees during the year and offers educational programs on topics such as child development, nutrition, parenting skills, and positive discipline techniques.
**Although this may look a little different this year, we will keep you updated with ways we will continue to keep parents involved.
Our Parent Committee, the Wesley Weekday Parent Club (WWPC) organizes several events during the school year such as:
Parents Night Out
Parents Night Out happen throughout the year and is a great opportunity to connect with other parents.
Dining for Dollars
Dining for Dollars is a great way for Wesley UM Preschool to earn money for the school and have the preschool families come together for a fun dinner at a children-friendly restaurant. A percentage of the receipts is donated to Wesley Preschool. Dining for Dollars dates will be posted as they are known.
The Christmas Party is held annually in December every year. The entire family is invited to play games, make crafts and have fun with other Wesley United Methodist Preschool parents and children.
Spring Fellowship Event
Enjoy a special children's performer and treat with your Wesley Preschool Community.
Wesley Preschool is sponsored by the Education Commission of Wesley United Methodist Church. All matters of budget, calendar and personnel are under the supervision of the Preschool Advisory Board (appointed by the Education Commission). Other matters, such as preschool activities, fund raising and parent education are handled by the Wesley Weekday Preschool Committee, which is composed of current preschool parents.
Wesley Preschool is covered under The Child Protection Policy of Wesley United Methodist Church. All members of the staff are trained regarding the policy and must complete a National Criminal Records Check, a Virginia Sexual Offenders Check, and a Health Form.
The preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its ethnic policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school-administered programs.
