Parent Handbook Covid Addendum 2021-2022
This addendum is a guide for parents of preschool children at Wesley United Methodist Church. This addendum is subject to change based on updated changes made by Federal, State, Local, Church, or Preschool authorities. We follow the direct guidelines from Virginia Department of Social Services, CDC, and Fairfax County.
Teachers and Staff
All staff, substitutes and classroom parent volunteers must be vaccinated and provide copy of vaccination. Anyone 2 years of age and older must wear a mask when inside building. Frequent hand washing or hand sanitizing is required throughout the day. Teachers and staff will be required to stay home if they are waiting for test results or have tested positive for COVID-19. Return to work will occur as per Fairfax County policy. Teachers will maintain social distancing of 3 feet best they can while indoors. Teachers will continue daily health checks and notify the office if a child is showing symptoms that are of concern: lethargy, fever, continuous coughing, congestion/runny nose.
Students will be required to wear masks when indoors. Please notify us if your child has a qualifying medical condition that exempts them from a face covering. Please spend time working with your child at home and in public to help them become comfortable keeping the mask on properly. Teachers will perform a daily health check (click here to view) on students. If a student is sent home, or is on antibiotics, please do not send them back to school unless cleared by physician or a full 24 hours on antibiotics. Students will stay home if they have had close contact with a person testing positive or waiting for test results. If a child or family is exposed or diagnosed with Covid 19 please follow Fairfax County policy for return to school.
